ADULT CLASSES

Adult Beginner Muay Thai Classes:
Our adult beginner curriculum works on the foundational skills necessary in the beginning of a student’s Muay Thai journey. The techniques in beginner classes are those covered in our white and yellow shorts grading curriculum. The core focus of beginner lessons are; physical conditioning, proper technique and consistency.

All classes are different although there is repetition in classes to build muscle memory. In the technique portion of class we work basic techniques with partners, on the heavy bag, on the focus mitts as well as on the thai pads. We also work blocking, counter attacks and dodging methods in various class times. We always take time to slow things down and fine tune skill development to build a strong foundation. We always have instructors on hand to assist with questions. We also incorporate physical conditioning into our classes utilizing functional movements, body weight exercises, banded exercises, speed/agility training, and more! Sparring does not occur in these classes.

Adult Intermediate Muay Thai Classes:
Our adult intermediate curriculum builds off of our beginner curriculum. With the strong foundation of graduating our beginner curriculum a student’s journey can now progress to the intermediate curriculum. The techniques in intermediate classes are those covered in our blue and purple shorts grading curriculum. The core focus of the intermediate lessons is, physical conditioning, controlled flow of technique, mental strength and consistency.

All classes are different although there is repetition in classes to build muscle memory. In the technique portion of class we work intermediate techniques with partners, on the heavy bag, on the focus mitts as well as on the thai pads. At the intermediate level we are now beginning to apply the techniques into reaction time drills to build our response tactics in a practical setting. We also work blocking, counter attacks and dodging methods in various class times. We also incorporate physical conditioning into these classes utilizing functional movements, body weight exercises, banded exercises, speed/agility training, and more! Students will be beginning to become aware of their own body’s strengths and weaknesses. Sparring with a partner can also take place at this level if the student has interest. These classes are great for those setting the goal to compete one day or who have already competed in a striking competition!

Adult Advanced Muay Thai Classes:
Our advanced curriculum builds off of our intermediate curriculum. With the technical skills gained from graduating our intermediate curriculum a student’s journey can now progress to the advanced curriculum. The techniques in advanced classes are those covered in our green and black shorts grading curriculum. The core focus of the advanced lessons is, physical conditioning, fine-tuning technique, mental strength/enlightenment, practical application and consistency.

All classes are different although there is repetition in classes to build muscle memory. In the technique portion of class we work basic and advanced techniques with partners, on the heavy bag, on the focus mitts as well as on the thai pads. We work a lot of sparring and freestyle pad work in these classes. Students at this level may have the opportunity to instruct lower level classes. These classes are for our competition team and those aspiring to compete one day!

Adult Mixed Level Muay Thai Classes:
Mixed Level Muay Thai is for any experience level (short level). We work on the basic fundamentals of Muay Thai technique as well as build our physical conditioning. These classes are very similar to the foundational techniques gained in our beginner curriculum but all student experience levels are able to take part.

Adult Mixed Level Kickboxing Classes:
Mixed Level Kickboxing is for any experience level (shorts level). We work on the basic fundamentals of kickboxing technique as well as build our physical conditioning. Some of the technique learned in this class will be a slightly different style than the regular Muay Thai classes but with the evolution of the sport it is important to be adaptable. Our school respects all martials arts and styles therefor we do our best to learn other striking disciplines. These classes are great classes to increase your cardiovascular strength.

Adult Mixed Level Boxing Classes:
Mixed Level Boxing is for any experience level (short level). We work on the basic fundamentals of boxing technique as well as fine tuning intermediate boxing form. We also work to build our physical conditioning, power/speed boxing and flow during combinations. These classes are great for those members who would like to increase their boxing skills and knowledge for Muay Thai.

Ladies ONLY Kickboxing Classes:
Our ladies only program is difficult but the results will be worth the task. These classes are more conditioning based and will, for sure, get you in shape! While taking part in our women’s class you will reach weight loss goals, build confidence, gain new friends, tone, and learn practical street self-defense! But the most important part is building a healthy habit.

Classes will incorporate interval training, strength and conditioning circuits, focus and thai pad work, heavy bag training, skipping, abdominal work, nutrition tips, basic self defense, muay thai technique and much more. These classes are also great classes to meet new friends while still getting in shape.

Dohjo Fitness Classes:
Dohjo Muay Thai & Fitness offers a variety of interesting fitness classes to all adult members. Fitness classes are age, experience level and gender friendly. Fitness classes consist of circuit training, natural movement, strength & conditioning, plyometric exercises, body weight training, Olympic lifting, drills with a Muay Thai twist and much more. These classes are great team and character building exercises for all experience levels!

YOUTH CLASSES

Squid Kids Muay Thai Ages 3-7 yrs old:

Classes are formatted very similar to Beginner Muay Thai classes curriculum. During class kids will partner up and work various techniques/conditioning drills.
Kids will learn respect, discipline, gain confidence, self defense, teamwork skills, courage, patience, leadership skills and of course the great sport of Muay Thai. These classes are similar to our Kraken Kids classes but with very basic techniques. These classes are great for those energetic kids to learn positive values and of course burn some energy!

Kraken Kids Muay Thai Ages 7-13 yrs old:
Classes are formatted very similar to our Beginner Muay Thai classes curriculum. During class kids will partner up and work various techniques/conditioning drills. Our Kraken Kids program builds off of the foundation gained in the Squid Kids program. We teach conditioning geared towards Muay Thai at the beginning and end of classes.
We also incorporate an anti-bullying course in our program. Some of the kids in this program have the opportunity to compete in sanctioned competition if that is their goal. Kids will learn respect, discipline, gain confidence, self defense, teamwork skills, courage, patience, leadership skills and of course the great sport of Muay Thai.

OTHER CLASSES

Special Needs Striking Classes:
Our Special Needs Muay Thai program is for kids and adults with disabilities. Our motto in this program and “Do the best of your abilities!” Most lessons in this class are very basic and more conditioning based. This is a great class for students to truly find out what they can accomplish with a little hard work and it is a great place to build new friendships!

Adult Sparring:
Competitive members have the opportunity to put all of their training and technique to the test against their fellow training partners at Dohjo Muay Thai & Fitness in the form of sparring.

During sparring everyone MUST wear the proper equipment which includes 16oz Gloves, approved headgear, mouth guard, Shin guards, and last but certainly not least a jock or jill.

Dohjo Muay Thai & Fitness members that are new looking to enter competition in the future will be assessed on skill, control, health and technical level before taking part in sparring.

Open Gym:
Pretty self-explanatory! Come in and free train. This time is a great time to partner up with a friend and work on that one technique that you just can’t seem to get!

Personal Training:
To book a personal training session click on the contact tab and set up a time that suits you in just about any time slot that does not have a current class scheduled. Classes will be formatted according to the students experience level. Classes will consist of conditioning drills along with basic technique. Class times are usually 1 hour long.

I offer ONE FREE in class trial for any class that suits your needs!!! Some people have also received FREE WEEK passes which are valid for 7 CLASSES of your choice!!!
